Wade Upholstery – The Core Collection – Classic Range

Hand made furniture since 1921 not only describes the longevity of the Wade brand it re-affirms the undoubted quality which the name has become synonymous with over the years. The Core Collection for 2008 continues under 3 ranges; Classic, Show Wood & Leather. The Classic Range is predominated by less formal sofas and chairs, embraced by an abundance of scatter cushions or the luxury of padded arm throws. Crafted to Wade’s exacting standards the Classic Range can be clothed by Wade’s exclusive fabrics or in a customers own material, mixed, matched and trimmed to personal taste. The expansion of the range during 2007 saw the introduction of the Empire and Hambleton which was followed up by the Belgravia which was released in the January show at the NEC. Most exciting of all for 2008 is the introduction of new fabrics for both the Classic and Show wood ranges which will be hitting your local retailers fabric boxes by the end of March.

The Wade Classic Range:

Belgravia – High back and deep filled seat cushions add to the luxurious feel of the Belgravia. The sweeping arms and distinctive styling of the back cushions help make this a design classic… with supreme comfort. The Belgravia is the new model within the range and presents real competition to its sister model the Corina (Both models are available with optional padded arm throws).

Camilla – Camilla’s defined shape is softened by the curving scrolls of the arms. Refined elegance is apparent in each piece. The Camilla has an exceptional sit with its high back and lumbar support, provided by a split back cushion. The longevity of this model is reaffirmed by the customers wanting to replace their original Camilla’s purchased 20-25 years ago by a new one in a different fabric.

Corina – An elegant ‘camel back’ design offering the ultimate luxury with a choice of style – ‘formal back’ or ‘scatter back’. The model illustrated shows optional padded arm throws. Solid brass castors add to the elegance of this design. The Corina in 9421/12 with co-ordinates continued to be Wade’s best selling model through 2007. Its success has been underpinned by a flexibility of choice available to customers who can tailor it to make a truly unique lounge display.

Empire – An understated curve to the front edge of the empire and the graceful lines of both the back cushion and the arm emphasises the elegance of this beautiful design. The deeply filled cushions offer excellent support and comfort. Complemented by a standard chair and a day bed this is a beautiful, comfortable and versatile model. As a new addition in 2007 the spectacular display fabric complements this suite magnificently. Its elegance is complemented by an array of scatter and bolster pillows which define the model.

Hambleton – The Hambleton’s simple yet striking design makes it an ideal model for either traditional or more contemporary settings. Deep sumptuous seating offers the ultimate in comfort. The other new addition in late 2007 to the classic range has an exceptional comfort and design. This model will complement any room setting and is completed by a low foot stool.

Mandalay – This grand curved sofa range is designed for those with a little more space. Deep fibre filled seat cushions are complemented by plump feather filled scatter back cushions offering the ultimate in luxurious living. The Grand and Large sofas are complemented by the unique Mandalay stool. This model captures the designers imagination when covered in the unique and extravagant grade 6 fabrics.

Monte Carlo – The Monte Carlo is of the highest specification. Full mesh top coil spring unit and a hard wood frame, screwed, glued and dowelled. The deep luxurious feather/lux seat cushions and the sumptuous feather filled back cushions combine to offer superb comfort. The Monte Carlo is a model which complements a rouched cushions finish for a more classical look.

Paris – The grand scale and curvaceous design of the drop arm make this a knole sofa that stands out. Deep filled seat cushions and an array of feather filled back cushions offer supreme comfort. The two sofa sizes are complemented by a love seat and a large buttoned back occasional chair (Emperor wing chair). The Paris is arguably the most striking model within the Core collection and displays exceptionally with an array of complementary co-ordinates to cover the scatter pillows.

Savoy – ‘Formal back’ or ‘scatter back; options offer alternative styling to the savoy. Note the intricate detail on the arm facing. Available with valance or on a bun foot. The grand sofa has a ‘split base’ option for ease of delivery. The Savoy presents a very strong alternative to the leather option provided by the Berrington. Its’ exceptional styling is rounded off by a bun foot and fantastic cushion comfort.

Serena – Luxuriously deep filled fibre seat cushions help create a high level of comfort for the Serena. Sophisticated styling with simple yet elegant curves makes this a modern day classic. A deep inlayed arm supports an elegant shaping with a traditional scatter make-up.

Tiffany – Simple classic lines define the shape and style of the Tiffany collection. Attention to detail is paramount and the piped border of the wing, arm and seat define and characterise this sumptuous range of furniture. A high back cushion gives head support and the built-in lumbar cushion further enhances the superb comfort. The narrow arm width is an attractive feature and important consideration for those with limited space looking to maximise their seating arrangement.

Victoria – A subtle and sophisticated interpretation of the traditional knole sofa. Characterised by its hinged drop-arms, wooden finials and cord tie-back this truly is a timeless classic. The Victoria is the antithesis of the knole definition and provides for an elegant simplicity when covered in co-ordinating fabrics.
