Myers beds was founded in 1876 by Horatio Myer, the Great Grandfather of current Chairman Jonathan Myer and Managing Director Rodney Myer. The company was originally located in Vauxhall Walk, London, with a turnover of £6,000 employing 19 people.
Since 1876 Myer's has grown and prospered by using the latest technologies and through embracing new design ideas. In 1962 Myer's moved to their current manufacturing site in Huntingdon and employed 70 people, producing 750 beds a week. In 1982 Myer's closed down its original Vauxhall site and in 1986 bought fellow manufacturer Staples which has the Royal Warrant to produce and supply beds to the Royal family.
In 2007 Myers and Staples were bought by the Hilding Anders Group whom also own Dunlopillo and Slumberland.
